How this image editor works
This is an all-in-one image tool: compress a photo down to a target size in KB, resize it to exact pixel dimensions, crop it to official government exam and passport photo sizes with the right background colour, fill transparent backgrounds, rotate or flip, and convert between JPG, PNG, and WebP.
The Passport / Exam Photo tab carries presets for every major Indian government exam: UPSC Civil Services (OTR), SSC CGL/CHSL/MTS/GD photos and signatures, IBPS/SBI/RBI bank exam photos, signatures, thumb impressions and handwritten declarations, Railway RRB (NTPC, Group D, ALP), NTA exams (NEET and JEE Main photos and signatures), CTET/CBSE, GATE, CAT, and state PSC forms. Pick the preset and the editor applies the exact pixel dimensions from the official notification and automatically compresses the file into the allowed KB window — for example 20–50 KB for SSC or 10–20 KB for a bank exam signature.
Everything happens inside your browser using its built-in canvas engine. The photo is never uploaded to a server, which makes the tool fast and completely private — safe for ID documents, exam photographs, and signatures.
Passport and ID presets like the Indian 35×45 mm passport photo render at 300 DPI print quality. Any preset's target size can be adjusted manually too: type a different KB limit and the tool binary-searches the best quality that fits under it.
For everyday sharing, WebP usually gives the smallest files at the same visual quality, JPG is the safest universally accepted choice (and the format government portals require), and PNG is best when you need lossless quality or transparency.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. The entire editor runs locally in your browser using the canvas API. The image never leaves your device, and closing the page removes everything.
What is the photo size for SSC exams like CGL and CHSL?
SSC requires a recent colour photo of 3.5×4.5 cm in JPEG format between 20 KB and 50 KB. The signature must be 4.0×3.0 cm and 10–20 KB. Select the SSC presets and both are produced automatically.
What are the UPSC photo requirements?
The UPSC One Time Registration portal accepts JPG photos between 350×350 and 1000×1000 pixels with a file size of 20 KB to 300 KB. The UPSC preset outputs 700×900 px inside that window and fits the size limit automatically.
What photo and signature size do bank exams (IBPS, SBI, RBI) need?
Photo: 200×230 pixels, 20–50 KB. Signature: 140×60 pixels, 10–20 KB, in black ink (not capital letters). Left thumb impression: 240×240 px, 20–50 KB. Handwritten declaration: 800×400 px, 50–100 KB. All four have dedicated presets.
What are the NEET and JEE Main photo specifications?
NTA accepts passport-size photos of 10–200 KB and signatures of 4–30 KB in JPG format, with a white background. NEET additionally asks for a 4×6 inch postcard photo of 10–200 KB. Presets exist for all three.
How do I compress a photo to under 50 KB or 100 KB?
Open the Compress tab (or the Passport / Exam Photo tab for forms), type the limit into the 'Target size' box, and the tool automatically searches for the highest quality that fits under it. If it cannot fit, reduce the dimensions first or switch to WebP.
What size is a passport photo in pixels?
The standard Indian passport/visa photo is 35×45 mm, which is 413×531 pixels at 300 DPI print quality. The preset applies this automatically; other presets cover stamp size, PAN card, US passport 2×2 inch, and Schengen visa sizes.
Can this remove the background from my photo?
It can fill or replace transparent areas with any colour, and it sets a clean background colour behind passport crops. It does not use AI to cut a person out of a busy background — use a dedicated background-removal tool first, then set the colour here.
Which format should I choose — JPG, PNG, or WebP?
JPG is accepted everywhere, compresses photos well, and is the format government portals require. WebP is 20–30% smaller at similar quality and works in all modern browsers. PNG is lossless and keeps transparency but produces much larger photo files.
