Website Performance Checker

Run a real Google Lighthouse audit on any public website: performance, SEO, accessibility, Core Web Vitals, and the fixes that save the most load time.

How this check works

This tool runs Google's own PageSpeed Insights service against the address you enter. Google loads the page on its servers with a simulated device, runs a full Lighthouse audit, and returns scores for performance, accessibility, best practices, and SEO — the same data Google itself uses to understand page experience.

Two kinds of numbers appear: lab metrics from the controlled test just performed, and field data from the Chrome UX Report — real measurements from actual Chrome visitors over the past 28 days. Field data only exists for sites with enough real traffic.

Core Web Vitals thresholds worth knowing: LCP (loading) should be within 2.5 seconds, INP (responsiveness) within 200 ms, and CLS (visual stability) below 0.1. Sites meeting all three across most visits get a search-ranking benefit.

Quick questions

Is this the same as PageSpeed Insights?

Yes — it calls the official Google PageSpeed Insights API and shows the same Lighthouse scores and Chrome UX Report data in a simplified layout.

Why does the check take 20–60 seconds?

Google actually loads and audits the page on its servers with a simulated device and network, which takes as long as the page takes to load plus analysis time.

Lab data and field data disagree — which is right?

Both. Lab data is one controlled test, useful for debugging; field data is what real visitors experienced over 28 days and is what Google Search uses. Optimise for field data.

Can I check pages behind a login?

No. Google's servers must be able to reach the page anonymously, so only public pages can be audited.
