Gold Loan Eligibility Calculator

Estimate loan against jewellery from gross weight, purity, today's 24K rate, LTV, and interest rate with lender-style valuation and repayment checks.

Step 1

Gold and lender inputs

22K gold
Loan-to-value (LTV)
75%
RBI cap shown below. Lenders may offer less after valuation, purity testing, and policy checks.
Step 2

Your gold loan estimate

80% cap
Eligible loan amount₹3,43,75075% of assessed gold value. Final lender valuation may be lower.
Assessed gold value₹4,58,33345.83 g pure gold equivalent.
Monthly interest₹3,008Interest-only monthly cost.
Loan per gram₹6,875Against gross jewellery weight.

At the 80% regulatory cap, maximum loan could be about ₹3,66,667, leaving ₹22,917 headroom over your selected LTV.

Step 3

Purity adjusted
Gross 24K value if fully pure₹5,00,000
22K assessed gold value₹4,58,333
Loan at 75% LTV₹3,43,750Loan

Purity matters. 50 g of 22K jewellery contains about 45.83 g pure gold, so 4.17 g is alloy portion for valuation purposes.

Lenders value gold at their own daily rate, often below the market quote, and may deduct stone weight after inspection. Final amounts vary by lender.

Getting the most from a gold loan

A gold loan is fast because the lender primarily depends on collateral value, not long income underwriting. Still, purity, stones, lender valuation rate, and LTV policy can materially change the eligible amount.

Compare repayment structures, not just rates. Interest-only and bullet plans are useful for short cash-flow gaps, while EMI plans reduce principal and auction risk over time.

Avoid borrowing the maximum unless you have a clear exit source. If gold prices fall or interest accumulates, high-LTV loans can become stressful at renewal.

Quick questions

How much gold loan can I get per gram?

Multiply the day's 22K per-gram rate by the LTV. Lenders publish a per-gram cap daily; it moves with the market. Enter today's 24K price above and the calculator derives the value for your purity.

What is the maximum LTV allowed by RBI?

Under RBI's 2025 gold lending rules, loans up to ₹2.5 lakh can go up to 85% of gold value, ₹2.5–5 lakh up to 80%, and larger loans up to 75%. Many lenders stay a few points below the cap.

Do banks count the stones in jewellery?

No. Only the gold content is valued — stones, pearls, and making charges are excluded. Studded jewellery is valued after deducting stone weight.

What repayment options do gold loans have?

Common choices: regular EMI, interest-only monthly with principal at the end (bullet), or full bullet repayment at maturity. Bullet loans usually have short tenures of 6–12 months.

What happens if I cannot repay?

After reminders and notice, the lender can auction the pledged gold to recover dues and must refund any surplus. Part-payments and renewals are usually allowed before it reaches that stage.

Gold loan vs personal loan?

Gold loans are cheaper (typically 9%–18% vs 11%–24%), need no income proof or credit score, and disburse within hours. The trade-off is pledging family gold and shorter tenures.
